One of my smaller acrylic works 'The Heat' was accepted into Clifton Arts Summer Exhibition and I had an invite to the exclusive preview. Taking a couple of fellow students with me, it was interesting to see the artists and followers all in one place.

After visiting this gallery and the one in Doncaster recently it was quite clear that they are worlds apart, and the crossover from one art type of art to another. In Doncaster the high street gallery has far more conceptual and challenging artworks, while those in Clifton are much more mainstream commercial landscape watercolours and so on.

Currently I am balancing somewhere in the middle, though my passion for creativity beyond the norm is clear. There is obviously something to be said for more commercial artworks, as it is still important to able to eat (even if it only Pot Noodles)...
